I\u00a0 tried to stay home
\nand I was bombed<\/p>\n

I tried to escape\u00a0 to areas
\nthat used to be my country
\nand I was shot at
\n<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 sought a bit of freedom in the air
\nwhere waves of the mediterranean hit the beach
\nand the kids are playing ball
\nand I was bombed<\/p>\n

I sought shelter in UN buildings
\nand I was bombed<\/p>\n

Desperate I sent my children to the UN school
\nand they were bombed and killed<\/p>\n

I visited the graves of my children
\nand in the cemetery
\nI was bombed and wounded<\/p>\n

I\u00a0was lying\u00a0in a hospital bed
\nglaring at the ceiling
\nthat was bombed<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 sought refuge in the UN Charter
\nand I was bombed<\/p>\n

I sought coverage in international conventions
\nand I was bombed with phosphorus<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 sought the attention of Arab leaders
\nand they looked at me in silence
\nas I was bombed<\/p>\n

I sought the sympathy of European leaders
\nand they referred to friendship with the US and Israel
\nas I was bombed again<\/p>\n

Now, friend, I abide my time
\nand enter the resistance
\nthat the incessant rhythms of Israeli bombs
\nshall not be the only music
\nin my land<\/p>\n
